A WARRINGTON-based manufacturer of canvas products is bucking the trend with a move to bigger premises and a £100,000 investment in new equipment.
Stuart Canvas has relocated to bigger premises in Hardwick Grange, Woolston.
The company sees the move as positive news for North West manufacturing industry and an indication of its strong performance despite the economic downturn.
Stuart Canvas has more than 30 years of experience in manufacturing PVC and cotton tarpaulins and supplies covers to the Wimbledon Tennis Championships, Premier League Football Clubs, Lords Cricket Ground and Haydock Park Race Course among others.
The new site gives the company more than 25,000 sq ft of manufacturing space – an increase of more than 50 per cent on their previous site.
The additional investment in new machinery is a further indication of the company’s ambition and desire to increase the products and services it provides its customers.
Chief executive Ed Stoddart said: “We’ve had a strong year and have grown to such an extent that we urgently needed more space. This move, along with our investment in equipment, marks a significant milestone for the company and gives us an ideal platform to further develop our capabilities and achieve even greater improvements in efficiency.”
