Village wants a farmers market

A PLAN to get a regular farmers’ market in the village is being pursued by Stockton Heath Parish Council.
Members heard that the Walton Lea Project had decided to discontinue its farmers’ market at the Scout Centre, Parkgate Road, as apart from the first one it had proved unsuccessful.
At a previous meeting Coun Robin Wilson said he thought it may have been more successful had it been nearer the centre of the village – such as in Victoria Square.
Members were unsure whether market regulations would allow this.
They have since consulted Walton Lea and the project is interested in pursuing the idea so parish councillors are to contact Warrington Market to check regulations.
