Motorway crash causes delays

TRAFFIC piled up on the M6 near Warrington this morning after a three-car crash on the northbound carriageway of Thelwall Viaduct.
Two cars ended up in the central reservation and one in Lane 4 – but the occupants escaped without serious injury.
The Highways Agency is dealing with the incident. Traffic was stopped for a short time while the vehicles were moved. But there are no ongoing lane closures.
But police warned that it was a busy stretch of motorway and some congestion and slow-moving traffic remained in the area.
They advised motorists to try and avoid the area.
