Companies urged to meet challenge

BUSINESSES in Warrington are being challenged to raise £1,600 to help the NSPCC provide more ChildLine counsellors.
The charity is urging firms to join the Network Challenge and raise funds to recruit and train counsellors for the service in the North West.
Companies must pledge to raise the £1,600 in six months – which is enough to recruit and train one counsellor. And the NSPCC in Warrington will offer support to companies agreeing to help.
Each year a counsellor can help up to 200 children cope with their worries and distress.
Amanda Gilmour, NSPCC corporate fundraising manager, said: “With the help of public and corporate support, ChildLine is already there for thousands of children and young people, but we need to keep developing our services to reach even more young people and help them access the support they so desperately need.
“From today we are challenging businesses to sign up to our new 1600 Network Challenge to help us protect even more vulnerable children. We know companies find working with us extremely rewarding and I am always amazed by some of the fun, creative activities companies undertake to support us! “
