Police break planning laws!

A village police station in Warrington is breaking planning laws, Stockton Heath Parish Council was told.
In May members complained about bright new signs, saying “Cheshire Constabulary Stockton Heath,” which were displayed on the police station in Victoria Square.
The parish council thought the signs were inappropriate for the Grade Two Listed Building. They reported their concerns to Warrington Borough Council’s conservation officer.
Clerk Peter Briggs told members that the planning enforcement team had agreed that the signs were “inappropriate” because it was a listed building, and the signs were to be removed.

  1. Was it the colour, designs or size that was inappropriate and are they to be replaced with somthing more ‘inkeeping’. If they were not attached to the building but were on a post outside would they have been ok ?? Seems a bit daft considering all the huge brightly coloured unbrellas and barriers outside listed pups etc in the village but rules are rules I guess. Must admit I hadn’t even noticed the police station had new signs 🙂 Is the station it manned these days then 🙂
