WARRINGTON Collegiate’s students and staff have been busy fundraising for its 2010 designated charity, Claire House Hospice raising a grand total of £8,600.
The collegiate put its best foot forward in support of the Hospice, organising car boot and jewellery sales as well as a five-a-side football tournament and a charity dinner arranged by the catering and business students.
A marathon length walk from Warrington to Liverpool also raised an amazing £2,000. The recent walk, spanning the 26 mile distance from Warrington Collegiate to Claire House, was completed by 23 adventurous students and staff from the joinery course. They also delivered a custom-made handcrafted bench designed and built by Warrington Collegiate construction students.
Rosalie Barton, Deputy Principal – Strategic Relationships from Warrington Collegiate comments: “Both staff and students have done a fantastic job and we’re all proud of their hard work in support of Claire House. The Hospice does an amazing job caring for children. They need a substantial amount to keep running and we’re glad to
have been able to help them with our fundraising efforts.”
