Police name motorway victims

TWO men who tragically lost their lives in a fatal crash on the M6 in Cheshire last Thursday (September 9), have been named.
Philip Cawley, 39 years of age and from Ashton-in-Makerfield, Wigan, leaves a wife and young daughter. His wifemade a brief statement saying: ”Phil Cawley was a beloved husband, father and son. He was devoted to his family and work, and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.”
Thomas Southward, 69 years of age and from Haydock near St Helens, leaves a wife, three (adult) daughters and grandchildren. His wife said: ”Tommy Southward was devoted husband to Jean, loving dad to his daughters Tina, Vicky and Jane and loving granddad to his five grandchildren. He will be sorely missed by all his family and friends. Tommy lived for his family, and also his golf which he regularly enjoyed”
