WARRINGTON’S seven Green Flags have been formally presented to the teams who carry out the work to earn them.
The Mayor and Mayoress, Coun and Mrs John Joyce, joined council leader Ian Marks, environment and regeneration director Andy Farrall and park rangers and keepers at the ceremony at Walton Hall.
Members of friends’ groups representing the various green spaces also attended.
The seven Green Flags were won by Walton Hall Gardens, Walton Crematorium, Fox Covert Cemetery, Burtonwood Cemetery, Risley Moss Nature Reserve, Lymm Dam and Alexandra Park – the first community park to be recognised.
