PUPILS from Warrington’s St Stephen’s RC Primary School are to take part in the upcoming Papal Visit event in London.
They were chosen in a ballot run by the Liverpool Archdiocese.
“The Big Assembly” will take place on Friday September 17 at St Mary’s College in Twickenham and is a gathering of 3,500 school children to celebrate the successes of Catholic education.
Eight pupils and two members of staff from St Stephen’s will be joined by others from the region – St Aelreds in Newton-le-Willows, English Martyrs in Haydock and Our Lady Immaculate in Bryn.
Head teacher Maria McGarry said: “As you can imagine we were absolutely delighted that we have been chosen by the archdiocese to be part of this historical event.”
An ITV camera crew will accompany the coach carrying the children to the capital.
