Extension refused

AN independent planning inspector has dismissed an appeal by a resident of Rushmore Grove, Paddington, Warrington against the borough council’s refusal to grant permission for first floor and single storey rear extensions.
He ruled that the extensions in a residential street of bungalow-style dwellings would be unacceptably harmful to the street scene.
The first floor extension would give the property the appearance of a two-storey house from the rear.
