WHILE their rugby counterparts Warrington Wolves were winning at Wembley, Warrington Town were celebrating on the F.A. Cup trail , with a 1-2 victory at North West Counties outfit Bootle.
It was sweet revenge for Town as they avenged being knocked out of the Liverpool Senior Cup at Cantilever Park last season by the Merseysiders.
Despite missing several members of his first team squad through injury and suspension, with three of his Warrington based players at Wembley supporting the Wolves, Joey Dunn’s men still had enough class to win through to the next round of the cup.
But Town had to work hard and come from a goal down to win, with Tony Evans finding the all important equaliser just before half-time.
Fellow striker Gavin Salmon made sure of the spoils with a second half strike but Warrington also had to thank keeper Paul Pritchard for ensuring they progressed to the next round without the need of a replay.
Warrington are next in action in the league away at Witton Albion, tomorrow, Monday, kick off 7.45pm.

F.A Cup success for Town
