Lost history is found

A UNIQUE book detailing the history of Grappenhall and Thelwall which was feared “lost” has been found.
The parish council Millennium Book of Record 2000 was located by parish clerk Janet Richards in the Chester Archives, where it had been deposited by the previous clerk.
Now the illustrated volume has been returned to the parish council for safe keeping.
A copy has been made which can be viewed at Grappenhall Library by appointment, along with the Village Design Statement, a document outlining planning policy for the parish.
Council chairman Mike Biggin (pictured) said: “They are both extremely interesting and valuable books.
“The Millennium Book of Record” was compiled by the parish council of the time in 2000 and the Design Statement was drawn up by a group of volunteers in the village.”
