POLICE are investigating an armed robbery at the home of murder victim Shalilea Ahmed.
Three men are understood to have broken into the house in Liverpool Road, Great Sankey, Warrington and tied up Shafilea’s mother, Farzana, her two sisters and a brother before escape with a quantity of property.
One of the family managed to struggle free and call police.
The attack occurred at about 10.20pm last night.
A 20-year-old man and 19-year-old woman suffered minor injuries in the incident but did not require hospital treatment.
Shafilea’s father, taxi driver Iftikhar Ahmed was not in the house at the time.
A 22-year-old woman has been arrested following the attack on suspicion of conspiracy to rob and will be questioned by detectives later today..
Shafilea (right) was murdered in 2003 and her body was dumped in the River Kent in Cumbria. Despite a massive murder hunt, her killer has never been found.
At the time there were allegations that the murder could be an “honour killing” arising from Shafilea’s refusal to agree to an arranged marriage to a young man from Pakistan.
But her family have always denied this, or any involvement in the crime.
