THE closing date is approaching for entries to the High Sheriff’s Cheshire Prize for Literature competition – and poets from Warrington are being urged to enter.
The event was launched in the summer at Bolesworth Castle, home of High Sheriff Diana Barbour.
Entries should be previously unpublished poem or poems, not exceeding 100 lines in total.
Works must be submitted by September 1 and anyone over 18 who lives, studies or works in Cheshire can enter. The competition is organised by the University of Chester.
The prize winner will receive £2,000, with additional prize money of £750 for the runners up. A selection of the best poems will feature in an anthology published by the University of Chester Press.
