13 arrested after drugs raids

POLICE are continuing their crackdown on drug related crime in Warrington.
Over the past three months officers have carried out six raids, arrested 13 people and seized what is believed to be a large amount of Class A drugs and cash as part of Operation Ayers.
The operation is being co-ordinated by detectives from the Northern Area Dedicated Drugs Unit.
DC Jamie Thompson said: “Operation Ayres is focusing on the suspected use and supply of heroin and crack cocaine in Warrington.
“The warrants have been carried out following information that has been passed on from members of the public. Residents across the town have told us that drug related activity is an issue of concern and, in response to those concerns, we have executed a number of warrants, which has resulted in numerous arrests and a large amount of suspected Class A drugs being seized.”
Of the 13 people arrested, eight have been charged, one has received an adult caution and four are currently on bail while further enquiries are carried out.
Of the eight people charged, six are currently going through the courts and two have pleaded guilty to drugs offences and been sentenced to a total of six years behind bars.
DC Thompson added: “We will not tolerate drug related activity in Warrington and we want to get the message across loud and clear that those who are involved in this sort of activity are not welcome here.
“Residents can rest assured that our efforts will continue and further warrants will be carried out as part of the operation. We are committed to tackling suspected criminal activity and anti-social behaviour across the town.”
Anyone with any information is urged to call police on 0845 458 0000 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.

  1. Well done the Police for catching this druggie scum…. maybe now the courts will actually send them to jail for a very long time? (well I can dream can’t I?)
