Affordable bungalows approved

TEN “affordable” semi-detached bungalows are to be built on a greenfield site at Fearnhead, Warrington.
Planners have given the go-ahead for the development, despite the loss of green space and the current oversupply of housing land in the borough.
They say these issues, which would normally result in the refusal of planning consent, are outweighed by the provision of genuine affordable home.
The rented bungalows, in Sealand Close, will be developed by the Arena Housing Association but retained in council ownership and let by the authority.
