BLUE Watch at Warrington Fire Station swept all before them to win the Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service Extrication and Trauma Challenge staged in Warrington.
An estimated 1,000 people turned out to watch the challenge take place at Warrington Fire Station.
They saw teams from across Cheshire, along with visiting teams from Greater Manchester, County Durham, Derbyshire and West Midlands compete in extrication and trauma competitions.
They were put through their paces with a simulation of a road traffic collision, with just 20 minutes to medically stabilise and extricate a live casualty.
Blue Watch from Warrington were judged winners by assessors from the United Kingdom Rescue Organisation (UKRO).
They will now go on to represent Cheshire at the national championships in Hampshire in October, with the chance of going on to represent the UK in the world championships in New Zealand next year.
The Blue Watch extrication team consisted of crew manager Damian Wight and firefighters Lee Howells, Micky Hitchen, Stuart Robinson and Jonathan Hill.
In the trauma challenge, Blue Watch again triumphed with firefighters Adam McConkey and Lee Howells judged the best team and firefighters John Turner and Jonathan Hill second place team.
Alongside the challenge the Fire Station hosted a family fun day of activities for all the family from driving simulators, Formula One Car, Formula One Car Simulator, go karts, car seat advice, Institute of Advanced Drivers Association, Rapid Response Road Unit, magician, competitions and prizes, etc.
The Trauma Challenge has been running for several years and Warrington Blue Watch trauma team consisting of firefighters Adam McConkey and Lee Howells were national champions in 2008 and went on to represent the UK in the World Championships in Germany in last year where they finished sixth.
