A SUGGESTION that Stockton Heath’s annual best kept garden competition should look at back rather than front gardens, was put to the parish council.
Each year members award prizes for the three best kept gardens in the village.
But Coun Sonia Boggan said: “In many cases the back gardens are nicer than the front. Many front gardens are paved over and used for parking.”
But members questioned how they would gain access to back gardens. The idea was dismissed as members agreed the garden competition was aimed at enhancing the look of the village.
