The benefits bus is back

THE successful benefits bus – which helped local people collectively qualify for more than £91,000 on its last visit – is returning to Warrington.
Many people sought help during the May visit and one Orford couple were pleased to receive more than £7,000 in extra cash.
Organisers say that each year millions of pounds of benefit go unclaimed across the country and encourage local people to turn up.
The benefits bus will be open and parked outside the market in the town centre from 10am to 3pm from Monday August 2 to Friday August 6.
The mobile service is accessible to everyone, with no appointment necessary. It is equipped with disabled access, private interview rooms, satellite and internet access, which allows immediate benefit estimates to be made.
A spokesman said: “Even if you have never claimed any benefits before, it may be worth finding out what you are entitled to – especially if your circumstances have changed, you are on a low income or out of work.”
