PAST students and staff from a Warrington college are showing their artistic talents at an exhibition in the town centre.Warrington Collegiate Visual Arts Alumni Exhibition features original works showcasing their talents. Works cover a range of themes in an array of mediums from painting to 3D sculpture and fashion.
The exhibition is at the Gallery at Bank Quay House, which opened earlier this year as a venue for the work of local and regional artists, and runs until September 21.
The roots of visual arts at the collegiate can be traced back to the original School of Art and Design that opened in 1854. The alumni group, called 1854, takes its name from the history.
College principle Paul Hafren said: “I am delighted that the collegiate has been able to take part in the new arts venture. Having a company from the private sector develop an art gallery in the town centre is a very positive opportunity for Warrington.
“The gallery has given students the feeling of being actively involved in the arts world and it’s been a great opportunity to showcase the fantastic artistic abilities of our staff.”
