LOCAL walkers celebrated 75 years of The Ramblers – formerly the Ramblers’ Association – with a series of walks in the Warrington area.
They walked a total of 75 kilometres throughout countryside and greenways, in and around the borough and surrounding areas.
The walk was divided into sections for those who did not wish to do the whole walk, with “escape routes” leading to bus stops.
Nearly 70 walkers and one dog joined the event, launched by the Mayor, Coun John Joyce at the Poacher Inn, Gorse Covert.
Other walks took in the Culcheth area, Walton Gardens, Grappenhall, Thelwall, Lymm, Moore, Houghton Green and Sankey Valley Park.
