POLICE today issued an appeal for witnesses following an attack on a teenager at Warrington at the weekend.
The 17-year-old youth was taken to hospital on Saturday night after being assaulted on the car park at the Cinnamon Brown Farm Club in Fearnhead.
A large group of youths were involved in the attack which occurred just before midnight.
They chased the youngster, knocked him to the ground and then struck him with pieces of wood.
As a result he suffered serious, but not life threatening, injuries, and is still detained at Warrington Hospital.
Police are keen to hear from anyone who may have witnessed the attack, or who may have any information on the group of youths who carried it out.
