Security plan for NHS centre

A 12FT high security fence will be built around an NHS centre for people with learning disabilities, if Warrington planners give the go-ahead.
The 5 Borough Partnership NHS Trust is seeking planning consent for the fence around the facility in Birch Avenue, Winwick.
Local councillor Brian Maher has lodged an objection on the grounds the proposals will harm the visual amenity of nearby residential properties and the Green Belt.
Planning officers, who are recommending the borough council’s planning sub committee approve the scheme, say the fence will be 65 metres away from the nearest house and will be a mesh fence, designed to limit its visual impact.
