Jill gets her running shoes on

A WARRINGTON paediatric nurse is taking part in the Great North run on Sunday September 19 to help children with life-threatening illnesses.
Jill Maddock, 33, of Locking Stumps works on ward B11 at Warrington Hospital.
She will take part in the run, from Newcastle to South Shields, to raise funds for the Make a Wish Foundation.
Jill said: “I am not a runner. I did the Race for Life two years ago and occasionally run in the gym, but never anything like this. I was inspired by Claire Pearson, our paediatric epilepsy nurse specialist who is also running it.
“So I am starting with the basics, but I am determined to run the whole way.”
The charity she is supporting grants special wishes to children and young people fighting life-threatening illnesses.
She said: “As a paediatric nurse I am only too aware of the effect these illnesses have on young people and their families and feel by doing this race, I can contribute to making these wishes become a reality.”
