School’s out
PUPILS will take part in a “It’s a Knockout” competition on their last day at Culcheth High School next Wednesday and also be treated to a staff talent contest. Then they will have a week off before moving into their new school – although they have been set homework and online studies.

Hospital lottery
WINNING numbers in the weekly lottery run by the League of Friends of Warrington Hospital were 9, 14, 15 and 16 – but no-one scooped the jackpot prize. This will now be rolled over to next week. A £25 consolation prize was awarded to a member of hospital staff.

Walking Day
WALKING Day celebrations take place at Padgate and Woolston today and police have advised motorists to try and avoid the area while road closures are in place between 1.45pm and 4.30pm.

General meeting
THE Fairfield and Howley Neighbourhood Project will hold its first general meeting on Monday at the old St Elphin’s School on Fairfield Street. The meeting is open to all residents and starts at 7pm.

Green Safari
A GREEN Safari is being held at Risley Moss tomorrow (Sunday) when there will be displays of birds of prey, Shetland ponies, honey bees, a drum workshop, circus skills and other attractions. The event starts at 11am and continues until 4pm.
