TIPS for positive mental health from Warrington people include socialising with friends and listening to upbeat music.
At a recent World Mental Health Day event local people were asked to share what they did to improve their sense of well-being on a mood board. Other listings included exercising and helping others.
During the event NHS Warrington, Warrington Borough Council and volunteers provided health information and advice on general health, mental illness and emotional well-being. Advice was also provided on topics such as depression, stress, anxiety and sleep problems.
People were also encouraged to join local schemes to improve their well-being including Reach For Health – which helps people with health problems to be more active- and The Arts and Sports Engagement Team – which encourages the development of arts and sports activities).
There was also information on volunteering opportunities, healthy eating and general well-being tips such as making time to connect with family, friends and neighbours, learning new things and being more aware of the world around you.
