PLANS to set up “residents’ only” parking schemes in Stockton Heath have moved a step closer.
Parish Council members heard the borough council was shortly to start consultation in one of the areas – bounded by Fairfield Road, Alexandra Road and Victoria Road – where parking problems occurred.
Clerk Peter Briggs said he felt it was a “positive step” that consultation was starting. Other areas had been defined and would be considered in the future.
Coun Sonia Boggan said the defined area included Gaskell Street and Warburton Street, where parking had been a constant problem. Many properties in the area were flats and there were many cars parked there in the evenings and at weekends.
Residents only parking on the way?
