TWO local charities have been given grants by Stockton Heath Parish Council.
A grant of £200 has been given to Warrington Disability Partnership. Members heard the organisation was moving back into its Centre for Independent Living in Beaufort Street following its refurbishment and extension funded by a Big Lottery Grant.
Staff and volunteers had raised £100,000 and were looking for the local community to help with an additional £100,000.
A second grant of £200 went to Walton Lea Project towards its operational costs. The project provides supported employment for adults with learning difficulties in the Warrington area, including three from Stockton Heath.
Members heard the project also operated a monthly farmer’s market at the Scout Hut, Parkgate Road, Stockton Heath.
