Celebrating work of unpaid carers

NATIONAL Carers Week will be celebrated in Warrington from Monday to highlight the vital work of those who provide unpaid care for someone who is ill, frail or disabled.
Many carers feel isolated and lonely, so the theme for this year’s celebration is, A life Of My Own.
There will be a drop-in service at Warrington Carers Centre on Wednesday June 16, and stalls in the town centre on Thursday June 17 with information and advice about the support available to carers.
The centre, at The Bungalow, Garven Place, Sankey Street, will also host a pampering session with hair and beauty treatments, and the Young and Caring project will be at the Peace Centre releasing 30 Chinese lanterns into the air. Further details are available from the centre on 644212.
During the week a new regional service for carers who are lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender will be launched and further details are available from Glenn on 0161 234 4254 or by visiting www.lgf.org.uk/carers
