ABOUT 600 workers at a distribution centre near Warrington are facing redundancy following a decision by DIY giants B&Q to pull out of the site.
The DHL warehouse at Preston Brook currently handles goods for B&Q but the DIY firm has announced plans to build its own warehouse and cease to use DHL.
Shop and distributive workers union USDAW says it is shocked by the decision but will work with DHL to secure a future for the Preston Brook centre.
B&Q say they will continue to use the centre until January 2012.
No redundancies are expected until next year.
