Horse play
WALKERS were knocked out of the way by a group of horse riders using a footpath running alongside the cemetery at Burtonwood, Warrington. Now the parish council have warned the riders to avoid using the path.

Memorial service
A SPECIAL service will be held at St Cross Church, Appleton Thorn, Warrington tomorrow (Sunday) in member of the men and women who served at HMS Blackcap – the Royal Naval Air Station at nearby Stretton. The service starts at 12 noon.

Plans on show
PLANS for the new Penketh Methodist Church will be show today when a coffee morning is held at the church between 10am and 12 noon. Members of the congregation has raised £500,000 for the work to be carried out.

Hospital lottery
WINNING numbers in the weekly lottery run by the League of Friends of Warrington Hospital were 5, 7, 8 and 16. The jackpot prize went unclaimed but a £25 consolation prize was awarded to a member of hospital staff.

Plant fair
A PLANT fair at Alexandra Park, Stockton Heath, organised by St Monica’s Church Plant Group raised £3,620 for charities including St Joseph’s Family Centre, Warrington and sick children in Bolivia.
