WARRINGTON Wizards got back to winning ways with an excellent 35-23 away win at Nottingham Outlaws in The Co-operative Rugby League Conference National.
The victory moves them up to second position in the league table, one point behind leaders and reigning Champions Bramley Buffaloes, who are the visitors to Wilderspool Stadium next Saturday evening, kick off 7.00pm for what promises to be an absolute cracker of a game.
The Wizards led 12-0 early on but were pegged back by a determined Outlaws side and went into the break level at 16-16 but the second half was totally dominated by the Wizards and they ran out comfortable winners in the end.
After the game Assistant Coach Mike Grady said, “Every single one of the players can be very proud of their effort today.
“To produce a performance in such searing heat was superb and we fully deserved the win. Wez Lawton was Man of the Match and deservedly so as he played the full eighty minutes in the second row. We can now look forward to a mouth-watering-encounter against Bramley Buffaloes on Saturday evening. We will prepare well in training and make sure that the lads are fully focussed on the job in hand. If we can get the win they we will move back to the top of the league table.”

Tries: Chris Campbell 2, Anthony Braide 2, Craig Middlemore 1 and Danny Shaw 1.
Goals: Warren Ayres 5 from 6.
Drop Goal: Jono Smith 1.
