A £1.5 million extension, including four new classrooms, large hall and other features is to be officially opened today at a fast growing primary school.
The grand opening of the extended Oughtrington Primary School, Lymm will be performed by Lord and Lady Daresbury at mid-day, following an introduction by Lymm town crier Peter Powell.
The ceremony marks the end of an exciting creative week at the school and this evening there will be an “open evening” for parents to inspect the new facilities. The school will be open between 5pm and 7pm.
Theme of the week has been “Alice in Wonderland” and children are today dressing as characters from the book.
A “Mad Hatter’s Tea Party” will take place on the school field when entertainment will be provided by the school’s circus skills club, school orchestra, appearances by “Alice” characters and rides in a “magic tea cup.”
Building work has taken nine months and has added four classrooms, a large hall, group room, new pond and outside play area.
