Another Green Flag for town?

COUNCILLORS are hoping a Warrington park will today qualify for Green Flag status.
Judges are visiting Alexandra Park, Stockton Heath and the adjacent Mill Lane playing fields to decide if the coveted award is appropriate.
Warrington has already been awarded a number of Green Flags, at Lymm Dam, Walton Gardens, Fox Covert Cemetery, Risley Moss, Walton Crematorium and Burtonwood Cemetery.
The Green Flag is the benchmark national standard for parks and green spaces in England and Wales. It was first launched in 1996 by the Keep Britain Tidy group to recognise and reward the best green spaces in the country.
