THREE solar powered temporary polling stations will be provided on Election Day as part of Warrington Borough Council’s commitment to tackling climate change.
The council has engaged North West based Kensite Services to provide three solar powered units to act as temporary polling stations on May 6.
They will be located at Cuerdley Green, Cuerdley, Churchill Avenue, Penketh and Runnymede, Woolston.
The stations will use a combination of solar panels and environmentally friendly back-up fuel cells which can provide enough power for up to 20 hours.
People in Warrington who are registered can still vote even if they do not have a polling card. They can just attend their local polling station on May 6 between 7am and 10pm.
Anyone who does not know where their polling station is should contact the elections team on 01925 442184 or email [email protected]
Further information and a full list of all the candidates – Parliamentary and council – are available on the council website at www.warrington.gov.uk/council/elections
Polling Station notices can also be viewed at the reception areas of Warrington Town Hall, Contact Centre, New Town House and The Gateway.
