Blaze hits road surfacing work

A TARMAC-laying vehicle was involved in fire during road surfacing operations at Warrington late last night.
Fire crews were called to Slutchers Lane, off Wilson Patten Street, when the vehicle burst into flames shortly before 10.30pm.
By the time they arrived, the vehicle was fully ablaze and two firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used hosereel jets to extinguish the flames.
Cause of the outbreak is not yet known. No-one was hurt.
