Inside the creative industries

AN insight into the fast moving world of music, film and media was given to students at Warrington.
An Inside the Creative Industries Conference was held at the North West Media Centre, at the University of Chester’s Warrington Campus, and attended by past and present students.
Professionals from across the region told students about their work, gave career tips and answered questions. The university’s experienced lecturers also shared their expertise in the various fields.
Organiser careers adviser Julie Bhagat said: “The exciting and fast-moving sector covers a range of roles in marketing, PR, events management, advertising, TV, radio, journalism, media, music and film making and the event gave a flavour what it is like to work in these industries.
“We wanted to help students to see how these creative industries involve inter-linked areas and to deepen their understanding of what employers in this field look for when recruiting so that they can work on developing their skills and talent.”
