Wizards win again!

WARRINGTON Wizards registered their second successive victory in The Co-operative Rugby League Conference National on Saturday afternoon with a fine 40-28 home success over Hemel Stags.
A vintage first half performance by the Wizards saw them lead 28-6 at the break but the second half was more evenly contested and Hemel got themselves back into the game but the mountain was too high to climb and the Wizards were left to celebrate a thoroughly deserved win.
Tries: Chris Cambell 2, Dave Yi 2, Alan Reddecliff 1, Darren Forshaw 1 and Stuart Pirrie 1. Warren Ayres landed 6 conversions from seven attempts.
The man of the Match was awarded to Wizards second row Jono Smith who was well supported by Darren Forshaw, Tom Wild and Chris Campbell.
After the match Campbell was delighted with the win. He said, “We made life tougher for ourselves in the second half with some silly errors but credit to Hemel for fighting back. In the first half our attacking play was sensational and Hemel didn’t know what had hit them. We have a break next weekend due to Murrayfield Magic and this will give us time to work on a few things in training before our next game when we entertain Liverpool Buccaneers at Wilderspool Stadium a week on Thursday (6th May). Kick off is 8.00pm.”
