Ditch disposable nappies

PARENTS in Warrington are being urged to ditch disposable nappies and use real cotton nappies for their babies.
Warrington Borough Council is offering 75 per cent discounts on a starter pack to mark Real Nappy Week from next Monday.
It says that disposable nappies can take more than 500 years to decompose after use. The week aims to highlight how easy modern cotton nappies are to use.
A council spokesperson said: “The green nappies can save parents hundreds of pounds, are naturally breathable and great for babies with skin conditions and of course are better for the environment.
“Many parents choose to use cotton nappies in the day and disposables at night – even just a small change can make a difference.”
Anyone who wants to take advantage of the discount should contact Jo Petty in the environment team on 442604 or e-mail [email protected]
