THE Warrington cricket season gets under way this weekend, with the town’s two top teams launching their campaigns in the Cheshire County League.
Grappenhall will start their division one programme with a home match against Poynton on Saturday (April 17).
After just missing out on promotion last summer, the Broad Lane side will hope to do better this term.
Warrington, who were demoted to division two last year, will travel to Brooklands hoping they can bounce straight back up.
The two local sides in the Meller Braggins Cheshire League start their seasons a week later, on April 24, when Stretton travel to Wirral and Lymm Oughtrington Park visit Kingsley.
Cheshire Alliance sides start their campaigns the same day, with Appleton entertaining Wilmslow Wayfarers and Rylands at home to Chelford. Glazebury travel to Mossley.
