A SINGER/guitarist who has supported Jools Holland and David Grey on sell out tours will be performing at the Pyramid in Warrington.
John Smith plays an intimate gig at the arts centre on Saturday April 24.
The 27-year-old Essex-born songster is an inventive guitarist, with lightning-fast finger-picking and unconventional percussive techniques.
He is the son of a preacher and was given his first guitar at the age of 11. He grew up in Devon listening to Muddy Waters, Ry Cooder and Paul Simon.
He has toured extensively over the years and has featured on the bills of top folk guitarists such as John Renbourn, Martin Carthy and Martin Simpson.
Many of his songs are self-penned and are described as timeless and heartfelt.
Tickets, price £10, are available from the Pyramid on 01925 442345 www.pyramidparrhall.com
