POLICE at Warrington today appealed for witnesses of a vicious attack on the dance floor of a local nightclub which occurred nearly two months ago.
The attack took place at the Halo Club at Bridge Foot in the early hours of Sunday, January 31.
A 20-year-old local man was dancing in the club when he was attacked and punched three times in the face. The blows were of sufficient force to break his jaw in two places.
As a result he has undergone weeks of specialist medical treatment, including having his jaw wired. He is still having difficulty speaking or eating.
The offender was aged about 20, 5ft 11 inches tall and of medium build. He was wearing a black, buttoned shirt with a motif on it.
Police believe he may have suffered a hand injury during the attack.
Anyone who witnessed the attack, at about 1.30am, or who believes they recognise the offender from the description, is asked to contact DC Carl Davies on 0845 458 0000. Alternatively, information can be left on the confidential Crimestoppers line, 0800 555 111.
