A taste of outdoor adventure

A WARRINGTON charity that gives young people a chance to taste outdoor adventure is looking for 100 volunteers take part in a sponsored walk up Mount Snowdon.
“Active Hope” wants to raise funds to provide more outdoor activities for children from a range of backgrounds like local schools, churches, social services, pupil groups or deprived areas.
Last year the charity raised £10,000 when 60 people took part in the challenge. This year the charity hopes “The Snowdon Challenge” will raise even more when it takes place on May 8.
Active Hope’s founder and director, Dan Curtis, said: “We believe that outdoor and adventurous activities offer children and young people the opportunities to experience challenge, to develop valuable life skills and to gain a fantastic sense of achievement and self-worth.”
“This is done through Active Hope activities such as ‘Adventure Academy’, ‘The Which Way Now Project’, ‘Active Mentoring’ and residential holidays.”
Anyone wanting an even bigger adventure can stay over at the Active Hope Snowdon Challenge Camp on the Friday and/or Saturday night and enjoy food and family fun.
