URBAN art will soon be a permanent feature at Warrington Museum after eight pieces were donated by international underground artists.
The gifts follow the success of the recent (R)Evolution of Urban Art exhibition, which featured work by urban art legend Banksy.
Artists Elbow-Toe, Swoon, Candice Tripp, Brian Adam Douglas and Lorraine Robbins also showed their work and were so impressed with the response from the public, that they each donated works to the Museum.
A London-based art dealer also offered two pieces of work – a self portrait by Elbow-Toe and a piece by Swoon – after being impressed by the exhibition.
All eight pieces will go on show once the museum and art gallery have been revamped later this year.
Councillor Bob Timmis, executive board member for leisure and skills, said: “This thoroughly modern exhibition brought many new visitors to our Museum and I am very happy to say we have a permanent reminder of this unique show and its success.”
Last summer Warrington Museum and Art Gallery won an award at the annual Museum and Heritage Awards for Excellence.
