New signings for sports partnership

THREE new signings have been announced by the Cheshire and Warrington Sports Partnership – the organisation dedicated to boosting sporting opportunity and achievement locally.
New trustees appointed by the partnership include representatives basketball, football and rugby league.
Peter Hawkins from Chester spent 20 years in the food industry. He is currently a Director of the Cheshire Jets basketball team and recently established the Jets Foundation which operates a number of major sports engagement programmes across Cheshire, involving over 11,000 young people.
Neil Kelly, of Stockton Heath, is currently Foundation Director of Warrington Wolves Community Learning and Sport Foundation which delivers a variety of sports-related projects linked to the education, young people and health agendas.
Third addition to the team is Mark Hardcastle from Harrogate, regional manager, national game at the Football Association. He co-ordinates the Football Association’s National Game strategy across the North West.
CWSP Chairman David Newton commented: “We’ve added some real strengths and enthusiasm to the team which will stand us in good stead to exploit the interest in sport that will inevitably increase as we approach 2012.”
Cheshire and Warrington Sports Partnership works closely with a wide range of agencies both in Cheshire and Warrington and nationally. They include local authorities, primary care trusts, the voluntary sector and schools.
