MORE than 160 properties in Warrington town centre were blacked-out this morning after workmen accidentally cut through a power cable.
The loss of power mainly affected the Henry Street, Museum Street and Parker Street areas of the town.
Power was lost at about 9.40am but Scottish Power Manweb engineers dealt swiftly with the problem and electricity was restored to all properties before 11.30am.
A Scottish Power spokeswoman said: “We would like to apologise to customers, although the loss of power was due to a third party working in the area and cutting through one of our cables.”
