Four-storey office block plan

PLANNING chiefs at Warrington are to make a second attempt

to reach a decision on controversial proposals for a four-storey office

building.

Members of the borough council’s development control committee have inspected

the site, adjacent to Stanford House, Garrett Field, Birchwood, since earlier

deferring a decision.

The development would include underground car parking, additional surface car

parking and associated landscaping.

Planning officers are recommending the scheme be approved, but a number of issues

have been raised in connection with the project.

One nearby resident says it would result in increased traffic, loss of

landscaping and that there are already many vacant offices in the area.

Birchwood Town Council is worried about the possibility of increased on-street

parking in the area.

The scheme provides 141 car parking spaces.
