STUDENTS from Warrington spent a day in London working with pop singer Kano.
The youngsters are taking new advanced diploma courses at Priestley College.
Adam Masterton, Carlea Walker and Jessica Wilkinson, who are enrolled on the Business, Administration and Finance diploma worked with the artist and helped produce the video for his new single “More than one way”.
While in London, the students met the producer of the video and got to grips with a range of business topics concerned with its creation, including technical aspects, logistics, decision making and administration.
The major point of the new diploma courses is to combine traditional learning alongside a vocational experience in which students get hands-on with employers to obtain a real feeling of the workplace.
Priestley students joined forces with others from up and down the country to bring the entire production together.
Meanwhile a commercial was also filmed on the day and shown on primetime television across the country to promote the diploma lines.
Carlea Walker said: “The day was a valuable experience that contributed really well to our course.
“We got treated really well, and it was good to see a famous artist like Kano being prepared to work with young people – it was very inspiring and a unique opportunity.”
The Business, Administration and Finance Diploma is one of three, recently launched at Priestley, alongside Society, Health and Development and Creative and Media. All have allowed students to gain experience in industry alongside normal classroom based lessons.
