General manager appointed

WARRINGTON-based engineering, safety and risk management consultants ESR Technology has appointed Dr John Evans as general manager of its Aberdeen operations.
He will be responsible for leading and managing the company’s Aberdeen oil and gas team and growing revenues in line with the company’s ambitious development plans for the North Sea region.
Dr Evans, (pictured) with almost 20 years safety and risk management experience, joins ESR Technology from Germanischer Lloyd where he worked as a principal consultant. Prior to this he spent 15 years with Advantica in a variety of senior consultancy and project management roles within the safety and risk team.
He has in-depth experience of risk assessments, safety management systems and safety cases and has led investigations into fire and explosion incidents both in the UK and around the world.
Pat Lawless, chief executive officer at ESR said: “We are delighted to welcome Dr Evans to ESR Technology.
“We expect his proven technical experience coupled with his commercial acumen and leadership skills to be a key facet of our plans to grow all areas of our North Sea operations.”
