Office plan is deferred

PLANNING chiefs at Warrington have put off a decision on proposals for a four-storey office building.
Members of the borough council’s development control committee want to visit the site before deciding if the scheme can go ahead on land adjacent to Stanford House, Garrett Field, Birchwood.
The development would include underground car parking, additional surface car parking and associated landscaping.
A number of issues have been raised in connection with the scheme.
One nearby residents says it will result in increased traffic, loss of landscaping and that there are already many vacant offices in the area.
Birchwood Town Council is worried about the possibility of increased on-street parking in the area.
Revisions to the proposals have met some concerns and planning officers are recommending the development be approved.
The scheme provides 141 car parking spaces.
